It is mandatory for all authors to adhere to the guidelines as mentioned below.  These guidelines includes tips to write better posts, safe practices in reporting, graphic optimization help, legal and ethical tips, wordpress tips, promotion tips, Linking rules and much more.

Message to New Writer

Do not publish straightaway. If you need help with something add a block of text like the following.

Save a draft and one of the admins will do the needful. use Preview mode to see the output. So unless you are pretty sure do not publish.

  • Try to limit yourself to the available categories. If you want a new category created please contact the admin.
  • Add Tags with responsibility and not more than 5 tags per post. Start typing the tag you want to see if a version already exists. e.g if “jobs” exists do not add a new tag called “job” or “new job” or “odiya job”.

Quality and Nature of Content

  1. Submit Original content only. If you want cite someone or something as reference then enclose them as text or provide a reference link to the original work. Duplicate content will be deleted without notice.
  2. Personal opinion is welcome but that should be expressed within limits. Do not include Hate Speech or Racist remarks in your posts.
  3. Blatant Promotion is forbidden. You cannot just ask people to buy something or visit some business house.  Candid promotion though informative content is totally welcome. The decision to segregate a blatant promotion from candid one rests with our editors and there decision is final.
  4. Try to be grammatical and clear in your writings. Avoid confusions. eg. “hang him not, leave him” is drastically opposite from “hang him, not leave him”.
  5. Facts and fugues must be supported with trusted sources. e.g Bhubaneswar has a population of 1 696 807. [ref]

Graphics Used on our Posts

  1. Do not use copyrighted images unless you have express permission form the original creator.
  2. You are free to use graphics that are your intellectual property and you can mention your own copyright rules for it.
  3. Please restrict your images to .jpg/.png/.gif file types only.
  4. Restrict the graphic files to 550 pixels in width else that flow out of the content area.
  5. Try to minimize the file size. This will help improve page loading time and save bandwidth.
